Itinerary A

Day 1: San Cristobal Airport & Junco Lagoon
Transfer to the boat after your arrival at San Cristobal Airport

El Junco Lagoon

It is located at 700m above the sea level and is one of few permanent freshwater bodies found in Galapagos. Here, you will often see Frigate birds washing salt off their feathers. The name "junco" comes from a plant found in this region called "junco".
Day 2: San Cristobal Island : Pitt Point & Witch Hill

Pitt Point

The island's north-eastern tip is home to storm petrels and frigatebirds. It also hosts all three types booby birds, the Nazca, red-footed, and blue-footed. The trail climbs up a steep cliff to reach a ravine, where there are many birds. The site is great for snorkeling or scuba diving.

Witch Hill

This eroded hill is located on the northern coast. It and its surrounding area make for one of the most beautiful beaches in Galapagos, with its white powdery sandy sand and abundance of wildlife. You will find sea turtles, rays and many types of Booby Birds. You can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the clear waters.
Day 3: Española Island: Suarez Point & Gardner Bay

Suarez Point

This is a great spot to spot blue-footed and albatross boobies. The large waved albatrosses, which use the cliff for launching pads, are a beautiful sight on the oceanfront. The blowhole is the most famous attraction. It spouts water high up into the air. There are many great photo opportunities at this location.

Gardner Bay

The breeding ground for nearly all the 12,000 Waved Albatrosses in the world is located on the eastern side. The beach is a long, white sandy beach that is perfect for relaxation. This site is great for snorkeling and diving.
Day 4: Floreana Island: Cormorant Point - Devil's Crown & Post Office Bay - Baronnes Viewing Point

Cormorant Point

The site also hosts a large flamingo lagoon, where you can see other birds like common stilts or white-cheeked pintails. The island's beaches are distinctive: The Green Beach was named for its green color. This is due to a high amount of olivine crystals and the sand. The Four Sand Beach is made of white coral.

Post Office Bay

A wooden barrel was placed on Floreana Island by whalers in the 18th century to serve as an unofficial mailbox. Visitors leave their addressed postcards inside the barrel, and then sort through the mail to deliver it at home.

Baroness Viewing Point

It is a wonderful place to soak up the natural beauty of the Galapagos. The fascinating history of this island was once home to an indulgent baroness with her three lovers. Legends surrounding this baroness have been linked to a fascinating murder mystery. Floreana's fauna and flora can be explored on easy trails.

Day 5: Santa Cruz Highlands & Fausto Llerena Breeding Center

Highlands

The highlands of Santa Cruz can be reached by bus from Puerto Ayora. They are deep green and contrast beautifully with the lower, dry islands. Scalesia trees are the dominant vegetation of the highlands, giving it its lush green color. Walking through the lava tubes underground, which are over half a mile in length, is an amazing, surreal experience.

Fausto Llerena Breeding Center

The Fausto Llerena Tortoise Center is a long-term program jointly run by the Galapagos National Park Directorate (Charles Darwin Foundation) and the Charles Darwin Foundation. It was established in 1965 to save Pinzon's giant tortoise population.
Day 6: Bartolome Island & Chinese Hat

Bartolome Island

Bartolome is the home of Pinnacle Rock. It's an extinct volcano that has a variety red, orange and black volcanic formations. The summit of the volcano is reached via a trail of stairs that offers one of the most spectacular views of the islands. This beach is ideal for snorkeling, and you may be able to spot the Galapagos penguin.

Chinese Hat

This is a small island located on the southeast coast of Santiago Island. The distinctive shape of the summit gives it its name. This is a wonderful spot to see many geological formations, such as lava tubes or lava flows.
Day 7: South Plaza Island & North Seymour Island

South Plaza Island

The small island is surrounded by Opuntia Cacti. It was created by rising lava. This island is home to the largest colonies of sea lions and colorful red and yellow land iguanas. Sesuvium is the most distinctive plant. Its color changes from a greenish-yellowish tone in the rainy season to a bright red during the dry season (end June through January).

North Seymour Island

North Seymour Island is home to numerous Galapagos Sea Lions as well as Blue-footed Boobies and Magnificent frigatebirds. It was formed from a series submarine lavas that contained layers of sediment, which were lifted by tectonic activity. It is known for its dry vegetation zone.
Day 8: San Cristobal Island: Gianni Arismendy Interpretation Center & Airport
